Weicon expands its management team

The regulation of succession is a major issue for many medium-sized companies. At Weicon, the Münster-based manufacturer of specialty chemical products, the company can now look to the future with more composure, as the management team has been expanded at an early stage. This expansion sets the course for the orientation and further development of the family-owned company. As the new executive management assistant, Patrick Jennings is now part of the four-member management team of the manufacturer of adhesives and sealants.

Jennings has been part of the management team at Weicon since the beginning of December. In the future, he will increasingly assume the responsibilities of CEO Ralph Weidling and thus steer the chemical company's global sales activities. This includes the optimization of sales strategies as well as the support of major international customers and projects. Jennings is currently being intensively trained by Ralph Weidling and is familiarizing himself with his future area of responsibility. "By expanding our management team with Patrick, we are well positioned for the future. He has years of international experience that will be very valuable for our company. I am looking forward to welcoming him to his new position and to further intensive cooperation!", says Ralph Weidling.

Patrick Jennings

Patrick Jennings was born in Salisbury, England, and has spent around twenty years in China, Thailand, Madagascar and Dubai. The 35-year-old has lived in Germany since 2010 and is fluent in English, German and Chinese. He studied real estate and Chinese and completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. In recent years, he has worked for a manufacturer of truck trailers and a company in the field of measurement and control technology, gaining experience in expanding sales networks and building sales strategies during overseas assignments in the U.S., India and China. At the beginning of 2021, Jennings started at Weicon as Area Sales Manager and was previously responsible for supporting customers in English-speaking countries. "I am very much looking forward to my new role and see great potential for Weicon in the future, both in Germany and in international markets. The brand awareness of our company is continuously increasing – thanks to the mix of growing online business, worldwide trade fair participations, comprehensive services and international marketing campaigns. In the future, I would like to further intensify our activities on the North American market in particular and exploit the region's very promising potential for us," says Patrick Jennings about his new position.
